my first award… take a gander.

So it seems I’ve been nominated for an award. (I know, I’m just as stunned as you are!) This award focuses on small-time bloggers with under 200 followers (no trouble there). This came to me from a lovely fellow A-to-Z-er, becsym.Thank you thank you thank you 😀

After writing this post, I went outside and jumped on my trampoline with my sister. When I came back, I discovered that I had been nominated for this same award TWICE! My original nominator nominated another nominee, elegsabiff, who nominated me. Tickle me pink. Thank you, too! So go follow both of my lovely nominators.

liebster-award1Here are 11 Random Facts about moi:

  1. I alternate between only sleeping with a tubular neck pillow and refusing to sleep with a pillow at all. Or rather, with a pillow under my head. I adore all things soft and fluffy, so my bed is littered with body pillows and stuffed animals that I sleep with, but not on.
  2. I’d been to four continents, Africa, Asia, Europe and North America, by the time I was 17.
  3. I’m in the process of becoming an EMT.
  4. I want to double major in English and Bio next year.
  5. I do triathlons with my mom.
  6. I am half Dutch, half American, with dual-citizenship.
  7. I do not look Dutch at all because my dad’s family were colonists in Indonesia. I’d say it’s fair to say that there was more than one servant-master fling.
  8. I have wild curls.
  9. When I was little I used to pluck out a few hairs, wrap them around my finger, and pretend that I was Rumpelstiltskin and that my hair was golden thread.
  10. I used to sing solos and win vocal awards, but not anymore.
  11. I’m a liberal mormon who loves to crack mormon jokes.
  12. I’m not PC (I owe that to living in Japan for five years). I also refuse to follow rules and conventions when I feel like it.

Here are the answers to my 11 questions:

1. If you had to pick your final meal what would you choose?

A six-course meal. Start with an Awesome Blossom as appetizer. Then proceed to French Onion Soup. Then have butter chicken curry with an assortment of buttered, garlic, and cheesy naan, plus a few samosas. Eat a few rounds of shabushabu. Devour a steak with cheesy broccoli on the side. Finish with a slice of Mom’s Key Lime Pie. Explode from too much food.
2. If you  could only have one book of fiction to read forever, which would it be?

This is an unfair question, so I’ll just say the first book that came to mind. Remember those Goosebumps books? I’d take the Make-your-own-story one so that even with only one book, I could have endless (kind of) possibilities on actual stories.
3.Where do you most want to visit and why?

Australia because I’ve never been there and I like their accents.
4. What is the best thing about blogging?

I can pretend to be good at writing without actually needing to be.
5. Why did you choose to take part in the A to Z challenge?

Because I saw it. What more reason do I need?
6. Have you preplanned any posts, Q or X or Z perhaps?

Nope. I’m too scatterbrained to plan much of anything.
7. When did you last enjoy live music, who played?

Global Citizen Festival, with Neil Young and Crazy Horse, The Black Keys (<3), Foo Fighters, etc.
8. Who influences you?

Ghandi and Faulkner and Jesus.
9. Which three words best describe you?

Curly, crazy, curvy (Chloe!).
10.What makes you happy?

Soft things, family, friends, bubbles, rainbows, boys, boys being gentlemanly, little kids, books, trampolines.
11. How long did you take to choose you 11 nominations?

Timeywimeywibblywobbly.
